Please send a detailed explanation of the issue with photos attached via the Contact Us form. An Avian-X customer service representative will be in touch to collect additional information and process your request if a return and/or replacement is deemed appropriate. Decoy replacement issues are handled on a case-by-case basis.
If the decoy is less than one year old, submit a request through the Contact Us form, providing details of the issues and the decoy model/style. Please attach a photo showing the model year under the tail to confirm the product's age. If approved, return shipping for the decoy will be covered, and a replacement will be sent at no additional cost. Decoy replacement issues are handled on a case-by-case basis.
If the decoy is more than a year old, you'll first need to identify the source of the leak to determine next steps. Apply soapy water to the decoy and look for air bubbles signaling a leak. If the leakage is at the air valve/stem, we can send you a new one. Please reach out via the Contact Us form to process a request.
If the leak is elsewhere, there are a few other things you can try. Turn the decoy upside down and remove or open the air valve/stem. Try running a rim of super glue around the bottom ring/seam at the stake pocket area. Then drop about 10 drops of super glue into the stake pocket itself and roll the decoy around for the glue to fill any small holes. You can also use a product called 'Shoe GOO®' to repair visible holes in the dura-rubber. Be sure to allow any glue to dry completely before re-inflating your decoy.
Simply blow into the provided air valve/stem to inflate an LCD decoy. Push the valve stem up inside of the decoy to seal the air from leaking back out. There is no cap needed with the valve stem. Keep in mind, over inflation may cause problems. It's best to under inflate the decoy so it has room to expand in the sun/heat. Do not use an air compressor or a bike pump to fill your LCD decoy as this can cause damage or over inflation.
Order Questions
Avian-X is a brand that is part of the GSM Outdoors group of brands and companies. Please be aware that charges for your purchases will appear on your statement as being from GSM Outdoors.
Throughout the order process you should receive two emails from us. The first confirms your order was successfully placed and provides your order number. Check to make sure you have this email. If you didn't get it, we probably didn't get your order.
The next email to arrive confirms shipment and includes a tracking number. Click on that number to go to the UPS website where you can follow your Avian-X order on its way to you. If the package shows it has arrived but didn't, or if the tracking information isn't updating, it's best to contact UPS directly to figure out next steps.
We're here to help. So if you didn't get any emails, if you're still confused about the status of your order, or if you just want to talk through some details please call us at 877-269-8490. Our customer service team is available M-F 8:00am-4:00pm CT.
Occasionally some of our most popular products get sold through faster than we can make them. Rest assured we're aware of the stocking issue and are working to get the item back on Avian-X.com for purchase. Once that happens, you'll see the "Out of Stock" message change to "In Stock."
Unfortunately, at this time we do not deliver orders to P.O. Boxes. We apologize for the inconvenience and are working to resolve it!
Waterfowl Decoy Tips
Scouting is one of the most important aspects when hunting waterfowl. When you find the birds, watch where they are landing and feeding in that field. The birds will tell you where you need to set up typically right on the food source. This area is what we call the "X" and is the best spot to hunt waterfowl. For additional assistance, please call 877-269-8490 to speak with an experienced decoy specialist.
There are a few things to keep in mind when rigging decoys. The first is water depths. Always make sure you have plenty of decoy line for the depth of water you are hunting. Current and wind speed are other important factors. Make you have enough weight at the end of your decoy line so your decoys don't float away in strong current or high winds. If you're looking for more help, call us at 877-269-8490. An experienced hunter will be happy to walk you through additional decoy rigging techniques.
We can't stress the important of scouting when hunting waterfowl enough. Look at the different duck species that come through your area during migration. Choose your decoys according to the ducks that work through your area.
Both decoys are very effective in the field, but if you are looking for the most realistic decoy on the market our flocked decoys are the way to go.
Turkey Decoy Tips
Try to place the decoy in a spot where it can be seen from every direction you think a gobbler might see it from a distance of 15-20 yards. For additional assistance, please call 877-269-8490 to speak with an experienced decoy specialist.
The quarter strut jake paired with an upright breeder hen has been a proven deadly combo for our staff members for many years, but all our hens can pair successfully with a jake or tom decoy to bring out the jealousy in a boss gobbler. Choose the right combination that works for you!
